E-mail Alert and Information Group
I would like to take the
opportunity to welcome everyone to the South Milwaukee
Police Department's e-mail alert and information group.
This e-mail alert program will be used to share current
crime prevention information and updates along with
information about what has been occurring in South Milwaukee
with both businesses and individuals. You can expect to see
information about current crime and scam trends in South
Milwaukee, Wisconsin and across the country, along with ways
to prevent you or your business from becoming victims.
I encourage those that have information that they feel is
relevant to forward that to me at
mhill@ci.south-milwaukee.wi.us. I will review the
information and then send it to the group. If you know
someone that would like to join this list, please have them
contact me to have their e-mail address added to the list.
I would like thank Jim Shelenske for organizing and
maintaining this service for the South Milwaukee Police
Department and the City of South Milwaukee.
If you have questions or comments about this service, or
would like to see a specific topic addressed, please contact
me at the e-mail address above or by phone at 414-768-8060.
My scheduled hours are from 3:40p.m. until 12:00a.m..

Thefts from
vehicles
It may not seem so now, but
warmer weather will soon be here. Unfortunately, as the
temperature rises, so does the number of thefts from
vehicles. Keep your valuables safe by doing a few simple
things:
-
Take moveable valuables
with you. Do not leave your cell phones, Ipod,
sunglasses, wallets or purses in your car.
-
Lock items in the trunk if
taking them inside is not practical.
-
Do not leave spare change
visible.
-
Park in a well lit,
visible location. Remote, dark areas are an invitation
to a would be thief.
If you are the victim of a
theft from vehicle, report it to SMPD as soon as possible at
414-768-8060. |
